Alfa Romeo Returns to its Winning Ways

A win in September and wins in Rounds 1 and 2 in Dubai on 8 October by Gabriele Tarquini in the AutoDelta Alfa Romeo 156 were just not enough to over come the huge lead built up during the early and mid season by Andy Priaulx and BMW Team Great Britain and Dirk Müller and BMW Team Deutschland which gave BMW the ETCC Manufacturer's Championship. To come within 52 points (224 vs. 276) was quite an accomplishment for Alfa Romeo. On a happier note Alfa's AutoDelta Squadra Corse won team honors over second place BMW Team Deutschland (220 vs. 205). Gabriele Tarquini placed third in the overall driver's standings behind first place Priaulx and runner up Müller.
