Recent MXP Trip

Things seem to have become a bit stale on this BLOG since Rick is away so I thought I’d share a few pics from my recent layover in Milano. As you can probably imagine we don’t actually get too much time to actually do a lot, so we make good use of the time we have. First, of course, is about four or five hours sleep after flying all night and the one to two hours bus ride to the hotel, depending on traffic.

Somewhere around three or four in the afternoon a couple of us may meet up, or it may be a solo excursion wherever or feet, bus, train, trolly or taxi may take us.

This is the building just across the street from our hotel. It is supposedly the tallest building in Milan and as such was the target of a lunatic who flew his light airplane into the side of it a couple of years ago in an attempt to kill his lawyer. The side you see in this picture is the view as you walk out of our hotel.

We are but two blocks from the train station in Milan and from here you can go anywhere.

From here we decide to go to Lake Como for the afternoon and an early evening meal.

The views were spectacular.

On the way back to Milan the train stopped in Monza, but it was too late to venture any further.

Next trip I plan to take a long walk around Monza and see if I can locate the fabled track and the infamous Parabolica. Ciao.
