March Meeting Minutes

Ciao Alfisti!

We had a great meeting last night, and thanks to some recent moves, contacts and purchases...we now have two new members in our little group. Welcome to Sharon Villines (who recently bought Myron Diamondstein's Red Series 3 Spider) and also to Rafael de Echeandria, who moved here recently (OK...December) with his beautiful '84 GTV6 Maratona. Thank you to Rich Minor for hooking Sharon up with Myron's car, and thank you to Pete Vack (by the way Pete...why not join us at a meeting sometime?) for letting Rafael know about our group.

Just to recap what was covered, here's what was discussed last night:

1. Williamsburg Winery British and European Car Show - 23 April. Some of us will attend. There is a 1 April cut-off for early ($15 as opposed to $20) registration. It sounds like fun. Details are available at www.alfasbythesea.com

2. VIR Performance Driving School - 28-30 April. This should be a fun event, whether you are attending the school or just watching the vintage racers. Some of us plan to attend. Do you want to come on out and have some fun? Details are available at www.pastaeaters.com

3. Moonshine Rally - Elkin NC 6 May. A really fun event to do, but it didn't seem like too many of us will be going this year. Details are available through the Corsa Rossa link when visiting www.pastaeaters.com

4. The MAARC Annual Wine Tour - 26-28 May. A fabulous weekend event for all. Reservations at the English Inn are available at reduced rates until 26 April. A planning meeting will take place at Jim Salerno's on Monday, 27 March. Details at www.pastaeaters.com

5. The annual AROC USA (Alfa Romeo Owners' Club USA) National Convention - 15-18 June. This years' national event will be held in beautiful Tulsa, OK. I know that Skip Patnode, Steve Patchin and Don Melia plan on going. Information is available at www.alfadeco2006.org

6. Dave Morris will be checking with our friend Aren Baze at European Classics and Sportscars in Richmond to see about arranging a "Tech Session" at his service center. Standby for more details.

7. We are hoping to have a driving event soon. Rich Minor and Thomas Gonnella graciously volunteered to put something together...stay tuned for details and don't forget to visit www.alfasbythesea.com for all of our local Alfa news!

8. Debbie Morris' son Jerry is hiking the Appalachian Trail. He has an online journal of his travels you can see at www.trailjournals.com. His trail name is Freefall. Please visit the site and offer him some encouragement!

Sadly, we will be losing Eric Hogue as he is moving to GA. Good luck, Eric! That's about it for now!

Ciao, Alex
