Manteo Recon...
Contemplating a beautiful day with not much to do (that we couldn't put off until another day), Andy and I decided to do an Alfa-Recon of Manteo using an unconventional route. It was definitely the back way - the way back way! Since we will probably be doing a group drive-down, I'm not going to spoil it for you - let's just say it's 2 1/2 hours worth of Alfa Adventure made up mainly of roads less traveled - way less traveled!
Anyway, we wound up in Manteo and checked out the facilities at The Elizabethan Inn. It is located on Highway 64 about two miles down from Big Al's Soda Shop (where we stopped on the drive Brad set up for the club last March). The property has some age on it, but it was none-the-less very nice. The room where the Christmas party will be should suit us perfectly. The hotel has a very, very LARGE indoor swimming pool, a jacuzzi and a sauna - so bring your swimming suits if so inclined. The rooms look recently remodeled and each has a refrigerator (and coffee maker Skip!). On the down side (for some of us) the Christmas Shop is closing in Manteo, so no shopping trips there anymore!
Looks like we will have a nice MAARC Holiday Party this year - let's just pray for the same driving weather we had today!
Don't forget to reserve your room by November 3rd to get the special rate of $49 - mention you are with the Alfa Romeo Club. Phone: 800-346-2466
